Dubai Aviation City Corporation, through its subsidiary Dubai South, the largest major urban development project focusing on aviation, logistics and real estate, has announced an agreement with Dubai Insurance Company to provide a comprehensive insurance program to protect employees in all companies operating in Dubai South, registered with Dubai Aviation City Corporation, pointing out that this insurance will come into effect from August 2023.
The signing ceremony was held at Dubai South's headquarters, where the agreement was signed by Khalifa Al Zaffin, CEO of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, and Abdul Latif Abu Qura, CEO of Dubai Insurance Company.
Dubai Aviation City Corporation, as the licensing and regulatory authority for Dubai South Free Zone, said it aims to establish a protected working environment for employees working in Dubai South.
She pointed out that the program is designed to provide a network to protect employees in cases where licensed companies in Dubai South may not be able to meet their obligations.
The insurance covers many miscellaneous aspects, including unpaid salaries, end-of-service benefits and repatriation costs for its employees or their remains, and unpaid expenses or unpaid expenses. The program will also be mandatory on all new work visas and work permits, as companies must adopt this system to protect their employees, and the same system will be mandatory when renewing existing residence visas.
